Should the construction industry go digital? Digital began its invasion of the construction industry almost 15 years ago, but it really [took off](https://www.ffbatiment.fr/federation-francaise-du-batiment/laffb/mediatheque/batimetiers.html?ID_ARTICLE=2972) two or three years ago. A disaster? Not really. The digital transformation in construction is an opportunity for development, which could lead to an increase in economic value estimated at around 1000 billion euros in France by [2025](https://www.oodrive.fr/blog/productivite/transformation-numerique-le-btp-a-t-il-fait-du-numerique-un-levier-de-son-developpement/). The McKinsey Global Institute estimates that a saving on project lifecycle costs of nearly [20%](https://blog.econocom.com/blog/le-numerique-bouleverse-le-batiment-et-sa-formation/) could be achieved by going digital. Digital was created to be responsive, and the ability to respond to customers’ requests at a moment's notice is an attractive point of sale for the customer. The customer therefore feels understood and reassured, which often translates into a signed contract. However, this responsiveness extends to other aspects of the sales cycle. Improving your brand image by going digital is also a way to make money: involve your customers, give them confidence, differentiate yourself from the competition and value yourself in the eyes of the customer. The result is positive word of mouth and new prospects. When talking about new technologies in the construction industry, it is impossible not to mention the brakes: according to the [KPMG-Le Moniteur](https://assets.kpmg/content/dam/kpmg/fr/pdf/2017/03/fr-entreprises-du-btp-transformation-numerique-le-moniteur.pdf) study, 52.9% of managers were unable to assess the effectiveness of an investment in digital, and lacked the financial means to invest.
