Asynth SAS ("we", "us", "our") publishes the Space Designer 3D Capture mobile application ("the App") for iPhone and iPad. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
This policy applies only to the mobile App. The Space Designer 3D web application is covered by a separate policy available at https://www.spacedesigner3d.com/privacy-policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate the App.
Account information When you sign in with Apple or with an email address, we receive and store your email address and a unique user identifier provided by the authentication provider. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we receive only the relay address provided by Apple.
Content you create The App stores the following content you generate or enter:
3D scans of physical spaces (room geometry, doors, windows, openings, and detected furniture)
Preview images automatically generated from each scan
Floor plans and PDF exports derived from your scans
Project metadata you enter manually, including project name, postal address, operator name ("scanned by"), and free-text notes
Device information The App accesses your device's LiDAR sensor and camera in order to perform scans. We do not record raw camera footage or audio.
Information we do not collect We do not collect your precise GPS location, contacts, calendars, browsing history, advertising identifiers, biometric data, health data, financial data, or device sensors other than the LiDAR scanner and camera (used only during an active scan you initiate).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
Authenticate you and keep your account secure
Sync your projects and scans across your devices
Generate previews, floor plans, and PDF exports from your scans
Provide the share code feature that allows you to import your project into Space Designer 3D on the web
Diagnose crashes and operational issues reported manually
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or behavioural analysis.
We may also use scans you create, in anonymized form, to train machine learning models and improve our scan processing algorithms. Before any such use, we remove all account and project identifiers (including user ID, email address, project name, postal address, operator name, and notes) so that the resulting data cannot reasonably be linked back to you. We do not attempt to re-identify anonymized data, and we do not reintroduce it into our active user databases. You can opt out of this use at any time as described in the User Privacy Choices section.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only with the following categories of recipients:
Infrastructure providers Your account and content are stored in Google Cloud Platform services operated by Google LLC, specifically Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Storage. Google acts as our data processor under our written instructions. More information about Firebase data practices is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Apple If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple processes the authentication exchange and provides us with an opaque user identifier and, at your option, your email address or a private relay email.
Legal compliance We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of our users.
Business transfers If Asynth SAS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with any third party for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not engage in any activity that would qualify as a "sale" or "share" under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account remains active. If you delete a scan, a project, or your entire account, the corresponding data is removed from our active databases and storage buckets immediately, and from our backups within 30 days.
You may request deletion at any time by following the instructions in the User Privacy Choices section below.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including transport encryption (TLS) for all network traffic, encryption at rest on Firebase infrastructure, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App also supports an offline mode in which your scans are stored locally on your device until you choose to sync them. Local data on your device is protected by iOS file-system encryption.
6. International Data Transfers
Asynth SAS is based in France. Google Firebase infrastructure processes data in data centres located in the European Union, the United States, and other regions. When personal data of European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Swiss residents is transferred outside those regions, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and on supplementary safeguards provided by our processors.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
Access: obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Rectification: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Erasure: request that we delete your personal information
Restriction: request that we limit how we use your data
Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller
Objection: object to our processing on grounds relating to your particular situation
Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact Us section. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For European residents, a list of authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/board/members.
8. User Privacy Choices
This section describes the choices and controls available to you.
In-app controls
You can review and edit your project information (name, address, scanned-by, notes, units) at any time from the project details screen.
You can delete any individual scan from a project, or delete an entire project, from the project list.
You can sign out from the app at any time via the Settings screen.
You can disable network access on your device to keep scans local only. Scans created offline will sync the next time you connect, unless you delete them first.
Account deletion You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by sending an email to contact@asynth.com with the subject line "Delete my account". We will confirm completion within 30 days. Once deleted, your account and content cannot be recovered.
Data access and portability
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you by contacting us at contact@asynth.com. We will provide the data in a machine-readable format (typically JSON for project and scan metadata, with associated 3D model files in USDZ format).
Use of anonymized data for product improvement We may use scans you create, in anonymized form, to train machine learning models and improve our products. If you prefer not to contribute your data even in anonymized form, you can opt out by sending an email to contact@asynth.com with the subject line "Opt out of ML training", including the email address associated with your account. Opting out does not affect any other features of the App.
Marketing communications We do not send marketing communications from the mobile App. If we ever do in the future, you will be able to unsubscribe at any time from the email itself or by contacting us.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA) California residents have the rights described in the Your Rights section above. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above. We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request, typically by confirming control of the email address associated with your account. You may authorize an agent to submit requests on your behalf with a signed written authorization. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so no opt-out is required.
Sensitive personal information We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under California law, and therefore the right to limit use of sensitive personal information does not apply.
Do Not Track We do not respond to Do Not Track browser signals because the App does not perform cross-site tracking.
Tracking by other companies Our App does not include any third-party tracking SDKs and does not request permission under Apple App Tracking Transparency.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
10. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services:
Firebase Authentication (Google LLC) handles sign-in and provides
the account identifier associated with your user. Privacy information
is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Cloud Firestore (Google LLC) stores your project and scan
metadata. Privacy information is available at
firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Firebase Storage (Google LLC) stores your 3D model files,
preview images, and PDF exports. Privacy information is available at
firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) is offered as an authentication
option. Privacy information is available at
apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/sign-in-with-apple.
We do not embed advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social network SDKs in the App.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the App or by email before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
