School in Saint Martin
Emergency School Design in Saint-Martin After Hurricane Irma
In September 2017, the French Caribbean island of Saint-Martin was devastated by Hurricane Irma, which destroyed approximately 95% of the island’s buildings.
In response to this humanitarian crisis, Asynth, the company behind Space Designer 3D, mobilized its team of architects, engineers, and interior designers to provide immediate support. The team designed an innovative and resilient modular school infrastructure tailored to the urgent needs of the island’s children.
Completed within just 48 hours, this architectural project was created entirely using Space Designer 3D and demonstrates the tool’s ability to accelerate post-disaster reconstruction. The school is composed of prefabricated shipping containers, designed to comply with anti-cyclonic building regulations, ensuring safety, durability, and ease of assembly.
This model showcases:
Container-based classroom design
Sustainable architecture with solar panel integration
Optimized site layout including library, infirmary, and green zones
Scalable and replicable educational facilities for emergency scenarios
This humanitarian initiative exemplifies how digital architecture tools like Space Designer 3D can support fast, smart, and secure solutions in times of crisis.
